Mushroom Shawarma

A delicious twist on traditional shawarma made with oyster mushrooms. This vegan recipe is packed with flavors and spices, served in a wrap with tzatziki, salad, and tahini. Perfect for a family meal or casual dining!

What you need

tbsp ground cumin

red onion

tsp salt

tzatziki

cucumber

tbsp maple syrup

oz oyster mushrooms

tomato

tbsp onion powder

tbsp olive oil

pepper

bunch fresh parsley

tahini

tsp cinnamon
lemon

tbsp smoked paprika
tbsp dried oregano

tbsp granulated garlic
Instructions
1: Sear the mushrooms in a hot pan by weighing them down with something heavy. 2: Sprinkle on both sides with some of the spice mix and keep searing until golden-brown (several mins each side). 3: Mix the rest of the spice mix with oil and lemon juice, then coat the mushrooms well. 4: Put them on skewers to create your shawarma (an onion base helps with stabilising it). 5: Roast at 200C/400F for 30 minutes, brushing every now and then with more marinade. 6: Slice the shawarma, then prepare your salad and sauces of choice. 7: Warm your wraps, assemble, then enjoy!View original recipe
